Description

The Magical Mystery Matching Game ™ (MMMG) poster is a fun and interactive game poster for Beatles fans to challenge themselves and their friends. There are 218 images, each one a clue to one of the Beatles songs released from October of 1962 (release of the Love Me Do single) to May of 1970 (release of the Let It Be LP). Test yourself and see how many images you can match to the songs!

Image clues are divided into easy, challenging, and very challenging.

Easy image clues are indicated with a green around the image number in the lower left corner. For example, this image might be considered easy to guess.

Challenging image clues are indicated with yellow around the image number in the lower left corner. The following image clue would be an example of a challenging image to guess.

And Very Challenging image clues, perhaps even for diehard Beatles fans, are indicated with red around the image number in the lower left corner. This image might be very challenging, especially because it requires knowledge of a back story on the origination of its song.

If done correctly, each image will be used once and matches only one song; there are 218 images and 218 songs. To assist, all the song titles are listed chronologically along the left and bottom of the poster. If you need help, or if you simply want to see the answers, explaining why each clue is associated with its song, there is a QR code that takes you to a document with all the images explained.

Further, unless otherwise indicated, each image clue is associated with a Lennon/McCartney composition. George Harrison songs (there are 22) have an H in the upper right corner, Ringo songs (there are 2) have an R. Compositions by George Martin (there are 7) have an M in the upper right corner. And if the song is a cover (there are 23 covers), there will be a C.

The Magical Mystery Matching Game ™ poster is 3-feet by 4-foot and made of durable vinyl with gromets in the upper corners, so it is tear-resistant and hangs flat.

If you are a Beatles fan, it is perfect for you. If a friend or family member is a Beatles fan, this poster would be the perfect unique gift for them. They will love you for it!

Any Beatles fan, even diehard fans, will find this game fun AND challenging!

***Back story for the MMMG poster: I have been a life-long Beatles fan. Many years ago, my wife and I were in Hawaii on vacation, and there was a painting in an art gallery that had numerous clues to Beatles songs. The idea of this fascinated me and stayed in my thoughts for many, many years.

Then one day, I decided to create a work of art that would have not just some clues, but would instead have a clue for EVERY Beatles song (in the original canon of Beatles songs released in the UK from the release of Love Me Do to the release of the Let It Be LP). That meant that I would need to create 218 image clues. I found an artist, and over a period of more than two years, gradually worked at giving her image ideas that I felt were unique to their songs, and she could craft into images. I began with the easy ones, a racoon for Rocky Racoon for example, and then gradually worked my way to the more challenging songs to find an image clue for.

It was also important to create an image clue, that as much as possible, was unique to its song, and could not easily be associated with another song. It was a challenge for me to accomplish this, but it was a work of true passion that I am proud to share with other Beatles fans, and aren’t we all Beatles fans? ☺

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
